Happy birthday, Katherine Heigl! As the former Grey's Anatomy actress celebrates turning 36, HELLO! Online takes a look at what the stars have in store for Katherine, and you...This is what Katherine, who is a Sagittarius, can be expecting today:When people are reluctant to discuss 'an elephant in the room', we must wonder why. Might it simply be because if it were acknowledged, it would lead to questions like, how did that elephant get into the room in the first place? How did it pass through the door? And if it came in long ago, as a tiny baby elephant, and has been growing ever since, how can anyone ever hope to get it back out again? Or perhaps the room has a very large pair of French windows. The solution to a problem may not be as obtuse as you fear. Click here to read your horoscope

Katherine Heigl

Born in Washington state, Katherine is the youngest of four children, and spent most of her childhood in Connecticut, where the family had settled. Tragedy struck in 1986 though, when her older brother Jason died after being involved in a car accident, and in the wake of his loss, the Heigl family turned to the Mormon Church.

Katherine was just nine when she was offered modelling work, and this led to her film career, with her big screen debut coming in 1992 and quickly followed by other small, supporting roles. In 1999, she landed her first high-profile part when she signed up to play Isabel Evans in teen sci-fi TV drama Roswell. The cult sci-fi drama ended in 2000 and Katherine took on small roles in other shows before landing what became her best known TV part, that of Dr Isobel 'Izzy' Stevens on medical drama, Grey's Anatomy.

The show was an instant success, and in 2006 Katherine garnered her first Golden Globe nomination before picking up her first Emmy award for the show in 2007.

At the ceremonystunned Katherine paid tribute to her manager mother Nancy, to who she is very close.Katherine has also kept her feet firmly on the big screen as well, with a starring role opposite Seth Rogan in Knocked Up which was followed by romantic comedy,  27 Dresses, in which she starred opposite James Marsden. But her comments regarding sexism in Knocked Up - Katherine told Vanity Fair that the film "paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys" - and later her decision to withdraw herself from consideration at the Emmys because she felt the film's writing wasn't up to standard, led to rumours she was difficult to work with.

But the 36-year-old addressed this at a recent Q&A for her new show, State of Affairs, telling reporters: "I certainly don't see myself as being difficult. I would never intend to be difficult. "Katherine is married to singer Josh Kelley, with who she tied the knot in Utah on December 23, 2007. The California-based couple met when she appeared in the video for his 2005 single, Only You, and they became engaged the following year.

Katherine and Josh have two adopted daughters, Nancy Leigh "Naleigh" Mi-Eun Kelley, and Adalaide Marie Hope Kelley.
