Eddie Redmayne arrived in London on Wednesday ahead of his appearance at the 2015 BAFTA Awards. The Theory of Everything actor had travelled from New York to Heathrow Airport and appeared happy to be back in his home town.

Eddie was dressed casually for the flight and carried a vintage style suitcase while a member of airport staff wheeled the rest of his luggage through the airport.

No doubt the 33-year-old is looking forward to being reunited with his wife, Hannah Bagshawe, who was forced to miss the SAG Awards because she had to return to her job at an antiques dealership.

"She's not here because she does a proper job," he told People magazine on the red carpet at the event. "We had our honeymoon over Christmas and then we came to LA for the Golden Globes, and she was like, 'I think I should probably go and show my face at work'."

With the BAFTA Awards being hosted closer to home, at London's Royal Opera House, it is believed Hannah will once again walk the red carpet with her award-winning husband.

It has been a whirlwind week for Eddie, who attended the Los Angeles premiere of his film Jupiter Ascending on Monday night, just hours after his appearance at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon.

Talking at the luncheon, Eddie told reporters of another airport experience he had recently, when he travelled with his Golden Globes award in his hand luggage.

"I had the most wonderful experience after the Golden Globes of taking [the award] in my hand luggage through the X-ray machine," Eddie said. "I… saw the bag go through and I saw the woman stop the thing and go close-up on this weird-shaped thing and say, 'I think it's an award or something.'"

The BAFTA nominee added: "I was praying they would make me open it up. The guy asked, 'Is this real?' I said 'Yeah!'"

The British-born actor will be hoping to emulate his awards success on Sunday night. He is up for another Best Actor award for his performance in The Theory of Everything, while the film is nominated for a further nine BAFTA awards.
