by hellomagazine.com

Jodie Kidd is the current favourite to replace Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson should the BBC decide to let him go. Car enthusiast Jodie is the 3-1 favourite to take over the role, according to bookmakers Coral, ahead of Steve Coogan, at 4-1.

Self-confessed 'petrol-head' Chris Evans – who previously ruled himself out of the running – comes in at 5-1, followed by Dermot O'Leary with odds of 10-1, and Stephen Fry at 14-1. Other names thrown into the mix include Piers Morgan (20-1), Rowan Atkinson (50-1) and Simon Cowell (66-1).

Jodie Kidd is the 3-1 favourite to be Top Gear's next presenter

Earlier this week, Jodie admitted she would be up for the job. "Why not? Yes!" she told the Mirror, before joking, "I'm sure we can get two people to sign a petition."

The 36-year-old is a big motor racing fan – she has taken part in several rallies of the Gumball 3000 and previously held the record for the fastest celebrity lap in the popular Top Gear feature, Star In A Reasonably Priced Car.

Jeremy Clarkson is expected to be fired from Top Gear on Wednesday

Jeremy's contract as Top Gear presenter is expected to be official terminated on Wednesday after a BBC investigation concluded that he did attack a producer on the programme. Lord Hall, the Director General of the BBC, will announce his decision after considering the findings of an internal investigation.

It follows a "fracas" at a North Yorkshire hotel during which Jeremy is alleged to have verbally and physically assaulted producer Oisin Tymon. The outburst apparently came after Jeremy – one of the BBC's highest-paid stars – was told he could not have steak and chips after a day's filming because the hotel had stopped serving hot food.

The TV star earlier confirmed he was still waiting for news

Shortly before 10 am on Wednesday, Jeremy – who is currently suspended from Top Gear – said he still had no word. "Just to keep everyone up to date, I haven't heard a thing," he told his 4.79 million Twitter followers.
