Ruptured knees, dislocated shoulders, fractured backs – The Jump has left many a celebrity injured. The Channel 4 programme has racked up a host of horrific accidents but this hasn't stopped stars from signing up year after year. With the fourth series in full swing, we take a look at some of the celebrities who have come off worse...

Tina Hobley

Tina's injuries from The Jump were far worse than she first thought. The actress had three major traumas, telling HELLO!: "My elbow came out of its socket and my arm was broken in two places; I tore my rotator cuff in my shoulder – a common rugby injury which has ended careers – and I had a full rupture of my ACL in the knee." Her accident had a huge impact on herself and her family. She added: "For much of the year I haven't been able to drive, dress, wash my hair or have a bath unaided. My daughter has had to help me put my clothes on. And for months at a time I haven't been able to take the kids to school, run errands, or do any of the things I love like yoga, cycling or walking any kind of distance."

Ola Jordan

Ola took part in the reality TV show in December 2014, but was forced to pull out due to a serious leg injury. More than two years later, the former Strictly Come Dancing star fears she has been left with permanent damage. Ola recently told the Daily Star: "I still haven't recovered 100 per cent. My leg will never be the same. It's as good as it can get. I can do pretty much everything in the gym. But there will always be something niggling me in that leg." The Polish dancer underwent keyhole surgery as a result of her accident on the slopes and at the time told HELLO! magazine: "Every morning, I'd wake up thinking it was a bad dream. Then the horror of it would hit me. I'm an active person, love dancing and going to the gym, but I couldn't even walk properly."

Beth Tweddle

During the third series of the injury-prone show, Beth suffered a nasty fall on the slopes while training. She was airlifted to a hospital in Austria, where she underwent an operation to fuse fractured vertebrae in her neck. A piece of bone from Beth's hip was taken and used to fuse the two vertebrae that were fractured. Thankfully, the operation was a success and Beth, the first female gymnast from Great Britain to win a medal at the Olympics, was discharged after a couple of weeks.

Becky Adlington

By her own admission, Becky's time on The Jump "wasn't the best experience" she's ever had. The retired Olympic swimmer dislocated her shoulder while pulling off a risky stunt. She was left in agony after losing control while practicing a ski jump at more than 30mph on a 100 metre long icy slope. The mum-of-one said the pain was "worse than childbirth" as her shoulder was dislocated for 40 minutes before she was carried away to an ambulance while taking in gas and air. Her injury kept her out of the pool for over two months.

Ben Cohen

Rugby player Ben shocked fans when he posted a picture of his bruised face on Twitter last year. The sportsman revealed that he had suffered a nasty accident and consequently lost two teeth and was forced to have 20 stitches in his face.

Vogue Williams

The HELLO! Online blogger was forced to pull out before the first episode of this year's series even aired. During training, Vogue suffered a knee injury that left her with a ruptured ACL. "I'm going to be out of action for about three months. I was practicing my ski cross and had a fall," she revealed in her blog. Nevertheless, Vogue admitted that she would happily sign up to next year's show. "I would jump at the chance of being on it again," she wrote. "I wouldn't swap the last couple of months for anything because I've honestly had the best time."

Sarah Harding

Last year, Sarah was the sixth contestant to crash out of The Jump. Medics advised the singer to stop competing, for fear that she would further damage her knee ligament. A representative said that Sarah would have to rest and undergo physiotherapy for her knee injury.

Bradley Wiggins

During snowcross training this year, the Olympic cyclist suffered a small fracture in his leg. He assured fans it was no "horror smash" that would require surgery or a cast, tweeting: "Seen a specialist, I have a small leg fracture & need to rest for 3/6 weeks. Good news no surgery or cast required." Adding that he was "gutted" to leave the show, he wrote: "No terrible break, no cast, just need to rest it."
