He played the lovable self-proclaimed ladies' man Colin Frissell. But it seems Kris Marshall will not be making a return in the ten-minute Love Actually sequel for Red Nose Day. According to director Richard Curtis, cheeky Colin is perhaps now behind bars. He told Radio Times: "My sons are particularly bitter that we don’t see what’s happened to Colin Frissell, who went to America and came back with Denise Richards. I'm assuming that he's in prison now. But I hope I'm wrong."

The director also admitted that he was worried about the logistics of uniting the cast for a feature-length film. He added: "Can we get any of the cast in the country at the same time? Is Liam Neeson making Taken 4? Is Lucia Moniz in Portugal? Is Colin Firth too grand now he's won an Oscar? Last time round, we built our own version of Downing Street. Can we find another house that looks like Downing Street with a staircase that Hugh Grant can dance down? Can Hugh Grant still dance? If he does, what can he dance to?"

Over the past few weeks, Richard's partner Emma Freud has been teasing fans with cryptic posts and pictures for the upcoming ten-minute Comic Relief special, dubbed Red Nose Day Actually. Emma Thompson recently confirmed that her character won't make an appearance following the sad passing on her onscreen husband Alan Rickman. She explained: "Richard [Curtis, the writer] wrote to me and said 'darling we can't write anything for you because of Alan' and I said 'no of course, it would be sad, too sad'."

She added: "It's too soon. It's absolutely right because it's supposed to be for Comic Relief but there isn't much comic relief in the loss of our dear friend really, only just over a year ago. We thought and thought but it just seemed wrong. But to revisit the wonderful fun characters of Bill Nighy and Hugh Grant and Liam [Neeson] and all of that, that's fantastic but obviously what would he [Richard Curtis] have done?" When quizzed about what might have happened to their characters Karen and Harry after the affair. Emma remarked: "Both of them would be in therapy by now and I would be working on some kind of ward. It was absolutely the right decision."
