The Britain's Got Talent judges joke about Ant and Dec's OBEs: 'If they had tails they would be wagging them every day, all day!'

The Britain's Got Talent judges have opened up about their reactions to Ant and Dec being awarded OBEs, with the group teasing David Walliams for being envious of the pair's incredible achievement. Chatting in an interview for the upcoming series of Britain's Got Talent, Simon Cowell joked: "[David's] furious. He's gone on an all-out assault this year to suck up to as many people as possible so that he can get there before me, and he probably will!"

He also joked about how happy the presenting duo have been since receiving the prestigious honour, saying: "Oh God, I’m happy for them, even though the rest of us don't have one! I've worked out that they are something like 77th-in-line to be the next Kings of this country. They've worked hard for this so they do deserve it, to be fair… Smug? If they had tails they would be wagging them every day, all day! They are thrilled, I would be as well."

Ant also hinted  that he thought David was a little envious, when he was asked who seemed more jealous out of Simon and David. "I'd actually say David as he's done a lot of charity work over the years," he explained. "I think everyone thinks he already has one!" David, meanwhile, poked fun at himself, while admitting he wouldn't like to see Simon to be given the prestigious honour. "Simon definitely thinks he should have a knighthood! I don’t know why, I don’t know what he thinks he’s done," he said. "Maybe by just being famous for long enough. What he doesn't realise is you have to do something positive, you can't just spread evil and think that you'll get one! So I think he's a bit peeved about it. I think he thinks he was going to get one at one stage. Who knows, though it would be annoying to have to call him Sir Simon, I wouldn’t like that, so I really hope it doesn't happen."
