by Emmy Griffiths

Warning, spoilers ahead!

Kit Harington has opened up about his character, Jon Snow, in the upcoming season of Game of Thrones. The star hinted that fans might finally discover whether Jon is indeed 'the Prince That Was Promised' – a prophesised hero hinted throughout the series who will save the world. Chatting to the Huffington Post, Kit said: "I think you have to wait and see what happens this year, and if we find out anything more about Jon. I think Jon would hate the term 'The Prince That Was Promised.' If someone turned to him and said, 'You're The Prince That Was Promised,' he just wouldn't pay much attention."

He added: "That's what I love about him, so I don't really care about it either. You know, I think that's what's great about him. He's got very little ego on him." According to the novels, the 'Prince' in question will be a saviour, and fans of the book series have been trying to guess who it could be for years, with names including Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister and even Jorah Mormont among suggestions.

The actor also hinted that the seventh series of the show will "break boundaries". He explained: "I certainly did more this season than I've ever done. I think every actor on it did more action, had more action, had more scenes. They really focused it because less characters are coming in, and they’re focusing in on the existing ones, and there are lots of people who cross paths, and that’s something that I think the audience has been waiting for for a long time… I think we're trying to break boundaries and push past boundaries in these final two seasons."
