The original film voice cast, including Kristen Bell (Princess Anna), Idina Menzel (Queen Elsa) and Josh Gad (Olaf the snowman), have confirmed that they will return for the sequel, and Kristen tweeted her excitement as the release date, writing: "Quick weather forecast from your favourite Disney princess' sister: Theatres are gonna get Frozen on November 27, 2019! Kristen has previously opened up about why it took so long for Disney to make the sequel, explaining to Collider: "What I know about that whole team is that they wouldn't just put something out to put it out. That's why it took them so long to even announce that we were doing a second one. Generally when you have a first successful movie you want to make a second one. It took them a while because they wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging and I think they found it."

Fans were quick to express their excitement over the upcoming sequel, with one tweeting: "My niece is going to be screaming in 10 languages." Another added: "Anyone have a time machine please? Yes I know there are more important things to use it on... but....this is Disney." 2019 will be an incredibly busy time for Disney, as they will also be releasing Captain Marvel, Star Wars: Episode IX, the live-action adaptation of The Lion King and a sequel to the Avengers franchise.
