JK Rowling has kept details on the sequel ofFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them close to her chest, until now! The author, who regularly replies to her dedicated fans on Twitter, revealed a key hint about the lead character, Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). After a fan asked about Newt's Patronus, which is a spell that is made from the caster's happiest memory and takes an animal shape that best reflects them or imitates a loved one, Jo admitted to tell them would be a "big" spoiler, prompting fans to instantly begin speculating over what it could be.

One fan wrote: "I both really want it to be a literal newt and hope it's a unicorn," while another added: "Guessing an Acromantula because I'm convinced he's the 'traveller' whose 'pocket' Aragog came from when Hagrid got him!!!! #CALLINGITNOW." Another fan shrewdly pointed out that this most likely meant that there would be Dementors in the upcoming films, as the Patronus charm is used to repel the dark creatures. She wrote: "THIS MEANS THE DEMENTORS ARE COMING BACK AHHHHHHH."

Speaking about rewriting one of the Fantastic Beasts screenplays, Jo wrote: "Today I've rewritten until my brain feels like a used teabag & I daren't reread in case I can't sleep for hating it. #JobSatisfaction." She then replied to a fan who asked how she found motivation, writing: "Rewrite & rewrite & rewrite and if it's still not working, write something different. You're allowed to cry sometimes." She then confirmed that she was working on the film series, replying: "I'll know tomorrow morning, when I read the rewritten bits I did today," when a fan asked how the sequel was going.

It was recently announced that Jude Law is joining the upcoming film as a young Albus Dumbledore, and director David Yates spoke about the casting. "Jude Law is a phenomenally talented actor whose work I've long admired and I'm looking forward to finally having the opportunity to work with him," he said. "I know he will brilliantly capture all the unexpected facets of Albus Dumbledore as J.K. Rowling reveals this very different time in his life."
