"We went out to a restaurant in Atlanta, and we had one too many glasses of wine," the mum-of-three explained. "We thought we were fine to drive, and we were absolutely not, and we are so sorry and just so embarrassed." Reese added, "We made a mistake, and it was something that will absolutely never happen again." Police reports of the arrest said the Walk The Line actress was involved in a confrontation with officers as they conducted sobriety tests. According to the document, the Oscar-winning actress asked the officer if he knew who she was and is also quoted as saying, "you're about to find out who I am" and "you're about to be on national news".

Explaining her behaviour Reese said, "I have no idea what I was saying. That night I saw him arresting my husband, and I panicked. I said all kinds of crazy things. I said I was pregnant. "I'm not pregnant. I said crazy things. I had no idea what I was talking about." Reese is mum to Ava 13, and Deacon, eight – her children from her marriage to Ryan Phillippe. She and Jim also recently welcomed a little boy named Tennessee James. The star said explaining the incident to her children was "the hardest part" of the arrest. "When you make a mistake, you take responsibility, and we are taking responsibility, and we are doing everything within our power to make it right."
