The fourth and final spot has been filled on The Voice coaching panel – Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson will be taking a seat in the big read chairs when the BBC show returns in January.

The 35-year-old singer joins Aussie pop princess Kylie Minogue, Welsh music legend Tom Jones and Black Eyed Peas singer Will.i.am in looking for new talent.

Ricky said: "Who doesn't want to spend their Saturday night with Kylie Minogue? I spent last winter yelling at The Voice, and both Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am were total superstars. "I'm just lucky the Kaiser Chiefs have rubber-stamped my temporary loan."

"Ricky is one of the UK music scene's great frontmen," said Mark Linsey of the BBC.

"He knows all about performance and will complement the rest of the coaching line-up perfectly."

On presenting duty for the new season are JLS favourite Marvin Humes and Big Brother host Emma Willis. The new hosts are just one of several changes designed to shake up the series.

Kylie and Ricky replace Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue, who left at the end of the last run of shows.

The earlier start month means the show will no longer go up against ITV's The X Factor.
