Victoria Beckham will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at her fashion empire with a new fly-on-the-wall documentary. The mum-of-four has teamed up with Skype to present the story of her life as a designer "in a groundbreaking storytelling format", allowing the internet call company unlimited access to her studios. As well as documenting her fashion designer career, the show will also explore how Victoria balances her hands-on designer job with her role as mum to her four children and wife of David Beckham.

The interactive project will also "give the audience opportunities to engage directly" with Victoria and her fashion label team as cameras follow them from their London studio across the Atlantic to their New York HQ.Victoria, 39, has spoken before about conducting work over Skype while juggling her business commitments with her family. "Most evenings, I'm curled up in front of Skype, in my dressing gown, speaking with my studio in London," she said in 2010."I travel a lot; my team travels a lot, but I wouldn't have it any other way. "I'm very proud to be British; my brand is British, and I'm very proud of that."

It isn't yet clear whether the Beckham brood – Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper – will appear on-screen alongside their former Spice Girl mother. The programme won't be Victoria's first foray into fly-on-the-wall documentary-style TV.When Victoria and her family moved to Los Angeles when former England captain David signed for LA Galaxy, she filmed a one-hour special, Victoria Beckham: Coming to America. The spoof-style show revealed the mum-of-four's wicked sense of humour and that she wasn't afraid to have some fun with her reputation for being a pouter. In the early noughties, she featured in documentaries including Being Victoria Beckham and The Real Beckhams. Both gave a sneak peek into the singer's private life and relationship with David and her time as one fifth of the Spice Girls.
