Broadchurch's final series came to an end on Monday, and if you're anything like us you have been glued to the gloomy crime show for the last three years. The Dorset-based drama has done a brilliant job of capturing a small community's reaction to tragedy, and has been applauded for it portrayal sensitive subjects. So what should you watch now that DCI Hardy and DI Miller have left our screens? From London-based detective duos to a drama based on Manchester's police force, check out our top five picks for truly excellent crime shows set in the UK…

New Blood

This BBC drama follows Stefan Kowolski and Arash Sayyad, who are starting out in roles in the Serious Fraud Office and in the police service respectively. After being thrown together by chance, the pair find they make the perfect investigative pair, and use their unique skills to help bring down criminals. Set in London, not only does the show do a great job of demonstrating the less glamourous side of the city and the struggle for millennials beginning a career in the big smoke, the crime cases are truly engaging.
