Cheryl Cole has revealed another of her artistic talents. The former Girls Aloud star has shared photos of her tattooing the man responsible for her striking rose tattoo.

The 30-year-old posted snapshots on her Instagram account of her inking the simple design on Nikko Hurtado while he gave her top tips to hone her newly acquired skill. "Today I learned from the best how to tattoo," she wrote.

The brunette beauty has struck up a close friendship with the man who created one of the most talked about celebrity tattoos of all time – and now the tables have turned as he let her draw a design on his lower leg. "You learn something new everyday!!!.. #nikkohurtado," she captioned the black and white snap of her with the tattoo pen in hand.

She then shared a photo of the final result – a simple line drawing of a pair of sunglasses flanked by two stars with a red heart above and a squiggle below.Cheryl revealed her latest inking, a vibrant rose design that spreads across her back and bottom, in August. The floral design, which took an excruciating 15 hours to create, received some backlash from her fans causing her to speak out on Twitter.

"I have personal meaning behind it but English roses are my favourite flowers," explained Cheryl. "People are entitled to their own opinion. Personally I've never really concerned myself with other people's body parts!" she added.

Cheryl also replied to the flurry of questions that fans sprung on her, saying she's had the tattoo for seven to eight months but only just had it detailed. When asked to rate how much it hurt, she replied, "More in some places then others but overall I'd say 9-10!!"The inking first came to light when Nikko posted an image of the finished piece on his Instagram page.

"The guy is a genius, a true artist and he helped me to cope a lot because I felt like I was in very safe hands :)," tweeted Cheryl.

The singer is thought to have around 20 tattoos in total, and tweeted, "I can pretty much safely say I'm done lol!"
