Tara Smith must be a mighty fine stylist, because the stars came out in force to help her celebrate the launch of her eponymous, organic haircare launch. Natalie Imbruglia, Yasmin le Bon and Lisa B were all in attendance and Men in Black II actress Rosario Dawson gave a speech in support of the range.
With the belief that "hair is a plant that needs to be fed", celebrity hairdresser Tara has developed a nourishing haircare range based on natural plant ingredients, with a realistic price tag.
The range is made in the UK, is Vegan- and BUAV-Approved, easily recyclable and, cutest of all, has tags around the necks of the products containing meadow flower and grass seeds that can be planted. Artificial colouring, synthetic fragrance, animal derivatives, parabens, sodium laureth sulphate, glycols and pthalates are all absent from the ingredients list.
Rosario told us she has been great friends with Tara since Tara did her hair on Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, and they've just done the Burning Man festival and Glastonbury together. Rosario tries to live as natural a life as possible, eschewing even make-up and designer bath and body ranges. Her favourite products from Tara's range – which bears the tagline, 'Tested on film stars, not animals' – are the Feed The Root and Big Baby shampoos and conditioners. She also recommended Tara's Base Coat Serum as a great cure for flyaways.
We'll have to wait 'til October when the range goes exclusively into Tesco to try the range for ourselves, though. Prices are all less than a fiver.
