There are few friendships as intimate as the one you can enjoy when you find a really great hairdresser – they get to see you at your worst but can be solely responsible for making you look your absolute best. And if you've been lucky enough to find a star stylist, you can have their talent recognised as well as winning lots of lovely prizes yourself, with this year's head&shoulders Nation's Favourite Hairdresser Award. Judged by a celebrity panel including TV presenter Emma Willis and her own stylist, Melissa Brown, the awards celebrate the great relationships that can exist between hairdressers and their customers, giving those clients the opportunity to say thanks and showcase their stylist's skills. Both the winning hairdresser and the client who nominated them will win £2000 and a year's supply of head&shoulders Damage Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner. The hairdresser will also receive a trophy and coverage in national magazines. Eight runner-up hairdressers will also receive a trophy and a goody bag worth £50 while their nominating clients will be entered into a draw to win six months of free haircuts, worth £500. To enter, go to www.headandshoulders.co.uk before February 15, 2009. The celeb judges will then decide who goes on the national shortlist with the nation voting on Facebook for the top five per region in the UK. And the Grand Final will take place in London on April 30, 2009, to find the outright winners. Emma Willis – recently married to Matt and expecting their first child – says: “I have a great relationship with Mellissa. Our bond has grown over the years and she has become so much more to me than just my stylist. So I think it’s great that head&shoulders is celebrating the special and unique relationship a person has with their favourite hairdresser and rewarding them for it."
