Change the setting from music to the movies, however, and the trend becomes more elegant and almost restrained with many stars at the Oscars sweeping their hair back in the simplest of styles.

And where hair that was dressed up at the Brits went for height at the crown – a la Duffy's 60s-inspired style – the height at the Oscars was kept to the front, with almost quiff-like styles that looked quite Grecian.
