It’s been such a celebrity staple for the past five years, we’ve been waiting for the day the bob finally bids farewell to its place in the hall of fashion fame.
But it just keeps being reinvented. And Heidi Klum’s the latest celeb to give it a signature twist that makes it all her own, while simultaneously signalling a new trend for long-haired lovelies who fancy a fresh look for summer without sacrificing all of their length.
Heidi appeared on talk show host Jay Leno’s show in the States, premiering her new look; a long bob with a fringe continuing into longer layers at the sides that frame the face (a great technique for making larger or round faces appear smaller).
And more layers cut into the ends of the side panels give the style the swing factor.
With a more ashy blonde colour than her usual bright blonde tresses, the new look has a slightly more sophisticated edge than her long locks with a retro ‘70s vibe, too.
It's not a high maintenance look, either: if hair's thick it should fall naturally into shape with a quick blowdry, while finer hair will need to be styled over a large round brush.
"Whenever I get bored I change it: I cut it, then grow it, cut it, then grow it," Heidi told the chat show host.
