Kim Kardashian looked no further than the ultimate Queen of Pop when it came to deciding what colour to dye her hair to. The reality TV star has revealed that it was in fact Madonna and her platinum blonde look that inspired Kim to go ahead with the change.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians favourite showed off her new hair colour earlier this week, when she attended events at Paris Fashion Week with her husband Kanye West.

While she once again floored fans with her dramatic look, Kim insisted that she has been thinking about the platinum shade for a while.

"I've always had this image of Madonna with platinum hair in my references folder on my computer and I've been waiting a long time to try the look," Kim, 34 told People. "I thought what better time than right now for Paris Fashion Week."

The previously brunette beauty added: "It was a really last-minute decision."

Kim also revealed that for her next striking makeover, she may look closer to home for inspiration. "I think it would be really fun to try that short turquoise hair that Kylie has," she said, referring to her younger half-sister Kylie Jenner's bright-coloured tresses.

Kim succeeded in her ambition to catch her fans and other Paris Fashion Week attendees off-guard, when she unveiled her new look on Thursday. North West's mum showcased the change on the front row of the Balmain show, as well as at a dinner hosted by the luxury French designer.

A couple of days later however, Kim was spotted visiting a Parisian hairdresser and emerging three hours later, sporting an even lighter, white ash hue.

Harry Potter actor Tom Felton joked that fellow blonde Kim Kardashian had 'stood him up'

Her makeover certainly broke the internet as her name started trending on Twitter when the first photos of her platinum hair were circulated. Other social media users were also quick to compare the model with actor Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter film series.

The English actor, 27, showed off his good sense of humour as he posted an Instagram snap over the weekend of himself and his former red-headed co-stars. "Kim K stood me up. Outnumbered by 3 Weasleys. Ugh," wrote blond Tom of their reunion.
