Television presenter and model Jenny McCarthy caused a social media frenzy after unveiling a dramatic new look on Instagram. The 42-year-old, who previously dated Jim Carrey, posted a photo revealing that she had dyed her blonde locks into a striking shade of magenta pink.

Jenny initially teased her fans with a close-up selfie with a few pink strands hanging loose over her face. "I've got something to show you!" she wrote in the caption, adding that she would be revealing her new look on an appearance on the Today show later that morning.
A few hours she unveiled her brightly coloured hair as she appeared on the daytime show to talk about her and husband Donnie Wahlberg's reality TV programme Donnie Loves Jenny, and revealed that her makeover had been spontaneous.
"This morning I woke up and I said, 'I'm feeling pink'," she admitted, before adding that if she changed her mind later "there's always bleach" to return to her trademark blonde tresses.

"This is something I've wanted to do forever and I've always been told by networks and bosses, like, 'don't do it'," she continued. "Before I get 80… like Barbara Walters isn't going to dye her hair this colour, so I figured I'm still at that age where I can get away with it for maybe a month."
Hair stylist Julius Michael, who helped Jenny achieve the striking new 'do, revealed that it had been a very last-minute decision. "We decided to do this at 1 am via text," he wrote in a caption alongside a photo of himself and Jenny on his Instagram. "Then I actually did the color change at 6 am with just two hours before car pick time for #JennyMcCarthy press tour."
