King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands visited Paris

The 44-year-old was simply dazzling as she and King Willem-Alexander held a reception at Le Petit Palais, with her blonde hair swept back into a chic updo with heaps of volumes at the roots. Maxima completed the look by pairing her elegant hairstyle with soft smokey eyeshadow and a slick of matte pink lipstick to complement her black and pink patterned gown.

Earlier that day the Dutch royal had been turning heads when she headed to an event at Paris City Hall, her hair worn in a low chignon, teamed with a stylish pink hat that matched her pale pink dress and colourful coat. For a laidback chic look, Maxima chose to go for barely-there make-up save for a hint of mascara and eyeshadow.

The stylish royal looked fresh-faced after having been at a state dinner at the Elysee Palace the night before, where stars including Lara Stone stepped out to welcome the Dutch couple to the French capital.

Looking the epitome of glamour in a cream gown with gold sequinned detailing, Maxima chose to wear her hair down in cascading loose waves, which she paired with smokey eye make-up. The royal also showed off her beauty credentials as she mastered one of the season's biggest beauty trends – glossy berry hued lips.

Just a few hours before, Maxima had been turning heads with a different beauty look, as the couple met with French President Francois Hollande at the Elysee Presidential Palace.

The queen opted to have her hair up in a sleek low chignon, paired with an eye-catching pink hat. She also showed off her impeccable style as she arrived with her husband for a welcoming ceremony in front of the tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Arc de Triomphe, opting for a pale dusty pink coat with embroidered and lace detailing.
