5 ways to stay energised during your fitness regime

Share this:

With summer fast approaching, many of us will be hitting the gym to work on getting a bikini-ready body. However, sticking to a fitness regime can be quite draining, especially after particularly intense training sessions.

A lack of energy doesn't always necessarily come from the exercise itself, but can be due to dehydration, or not eating the right foods to counterbalance the sudden surge in exercise your body is doing. HELLO! Online has found the top five ways to make sure your fitness and energy levels rise, as recommended by celebrity personal trainer Christianne Wolff. Scroll below to see the top five tips

1. Make sure you warm up

It's important to warm up and stretch for at least 10 minutes before you exercise, and do the same for the cool down afterwards. It may be tempting to skip this to save time, but it's actually vital in helping you raise your fitness levels.

2. Get enough sleep

The harder you train, the more sleep and rest you will need. Try and get a full eight hours of sleep to let your body, and energy levels, recover.

3. Stick to a healthy diet

Keep a low sugar diet, but make sure you eat lots of protein, for example such as nuts or fish. Always eat a small snack half an hour before you train, and within half an hour when you finish.

4. Don't overdo it

Always have one day off from the gym and training a week, to allow your body to recuperate and recover.

5. Make sure you get enough iron

Iron helps boost energy levels, but when you exercise more your iron levels decrease. Make sure to eat plenty of iron-filled foods such as dried fruits and lentils, or take a supplement such as Spatone Sport, which can help increase your performance.
