A girl's wedding day is the biggest day of her life – and it's crucial that she looks her best with beautiful makeup that will take her from the ceremony through to the reception.
Reese Witherspoon looked effortlessly stunning when she tied the knot with Hollywood agent Jim Toth last week, in pictures shared exclusively in the pages of HELLO! magazine – and now, makeup artist to the stars Alice Theobald shows all bride-to-be's out there how to recapture her look!

"To create a fresh-faced, natural wedding makeup look like Reese's, I'd recommend using a pre-base," says Alice. "You need to make sure your makeup will last all day, and to help that happen I love Chanel Base Lumiere Makeup Base. Apply your foundation on top of this, and then an under eye concealer if you want to cover up the evidence of your hen night! Now dust a translucent powder across the face to lock everything into place.
"Here's a good tip – there's a product called Blot Film by MAC. They're papers, and you can dab them at your face throughout the day to get rid of any grease while avoiding applying extra foundation, so that you don't look caked in makeup."
Next up, concentrate on the eyes. "To get the little wedding day twinkle that Reese has, apply Mister Bright by Givenchy – it's a highlighter pen – into the corners of your eyes. For your brows, Urban Decay do a brow box called Honey. There's a powder – apply this in gentle, feathery strokes to create a natural arch – and there's a wax, which you can apply on top to fix the brows in place," she says.
"I'd advise using a cream eyeshadow first – this makeup needs to last all day! Illamasqua do a great one that you can apply across the entire eye, called Emerge. Then apply Hollow – again, by Illamasqua - from the lash to the socket line, using your fingers. Blend. Then set the eyeshadow with NARS' All About Eve, to set the cream in place, before applying a bronze eyeshadow from the outer corners and root lash to the socket and blending well. Apply a touch of this to the lash line of your lower lids, too, and blend with a soft brush."
On the inner eye line Reese has gone for white, to really make her baby blues stand out. "I'm going to use 2 True Pure White pencil, and then apply a brown gel liner on the top lids. This keeps the look natural, which is important on your wedding day – especially because Reese has very fair skin. Apply mascara – and make sure it's waterproof to protect against any tears!" laughs Alice.
"Now, to create the full, blushing bride effect, I'd recommend using Le Prisme Blush in Vintage Pink by Givenchy. Smile, and apply to the apples of your cheeks in a circular motion so it's blended beautifully.
"Use a neutral lipliner, and then apply Estee Lauder's Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Rose Petal, before topping with 2 True Candy Pink lip gloss.
"Now – this is very important. Everyone is going to want to see your ring, so you need to pay just as much attention to your manicure," she tells us. "Yves Saint Laurent do a French manicure pen. It's very easy to apply yourself – much better than those fiddly nail varnish brushes – and will ensure your hands are primed to show off that sparkler."
It's a little princess!
