Make-up: Emma Watson goes minimal at the MTV Awards

15 APRIL 2013

Emma Watson stole the show on Sunday evening at the MTV awards as she picked up the Trailblazer prize for her perfomances in Perks of Being a Wallflower and the Harry Potter series.

Looking typically quirky and chic in a Maxime Simoens graphic-print dress, Emma, 23, completed the look with minimal make-up to balance out the busy patterns in her outfit. Defining her eyes with a blend of espresso-hued eyeshadow in the eye socket, the star, who is soon set to appear in The Bling Ring, opted for a sheer shade of nude lipstick and peachy blush to finish.

Following Emma on the red carpet with their versions of sheer spring make-up were singer Selena Gomez and Django Unchained star, Kerry Washington.

Selena, 20, styled her long luscious locks into a fun, spring-inspired 'do for the ceremony at Sony Pictures Studios, sporting a large French plait which began from the top of her hairline.

Opting for a classic smokey eye and lashings of mascara, the starlet kept the rest of her look fresh with a dewy bronzed base and a light coral gloss to her lips.

Actress Kerry Washington, who plays the wife of Jamie Foxx's character in Django Unchained, looked particularly glamorous, sporting a nude lip and effortlessly smudged eyeliner.

Even MTV's pre-show host Karlie Kloss couldn't help but be impressed with Kerry's red carpet look as she tweeted a snapshot of them both at the night's event.

"The always beautiful @kerrywashington looked absolutely stunning on the @MTV #MovieAwards red carpet," said Karlie.

Admiring Kerry's black and yellow Michael Kors dress, the Victoria's Secret Angel looked no less than stunning herself at the evening's event. Swapping her usually wavy bob for a straightened 'do with just the slightest curl at the chin, the model added a touch of Hollywood glamour to her mid-length locks.

Looking chic in a white Cushnie et Ochs two-piece and Gucci heels, Karlie also added a colour to her outfit with a pop of glossy red lipstick. The orange-red hue matched the red carpet on which she was hosting the event perfectly and was complemented by a flick of feline-like eyeliner.
