All eyes were on Katie Holmes as she took to the red carpet for the WWD and Variety inaugural stylemakers' event on Thursday night. The 36-year-old not only wowed in an eye-catching sparkling ensemble, but she looked every inch a beauty icon with a sleek hair and make-up look.

The former Dawson's Creek star looked as radiant as ever as she mingled with guests including Kourtney Kardashian and Freida Pinto, wearing her glossy brunette locks down in a poker straight style. Showing off her beauty credentials, Katie rocked glittering blue eyeshadow and eyeliner, teamed with pale pink lips for a striking finish.

Ever the fashionista, Katie's ensemble was as dazzling as her beauty. The star topped best-dressed lists for her stylish ensemble, which consisted of a chic silk black blouse paired with a black midi skirt embellished with silver crystals, complete with a pair of patent black Christian Louboutin stilettos.

The Batman Begins actress was supporting close friend Zac Posen as he picked up the award for Designer of the Year. Katie celebrated the style maestro's success later that evening, throwing him a glamorous party with an A-list guestlist, and decorations including photos of the designer around the room.

The star rocked poker straight hair and shimmering blue eyeshadow

How to get Katie's sleek and chic look:

Hair: For the star's poker straight locks, begin by spritzing your hair with heat protection spray and brush through into a side parting. Next, divide your tresses into small sections, about an inch wide each. Using straighteners, starting with the bottom sections, straighten from the roots. When you're done, make sure to spray with strong hold hairspray to keep your tresses in place.

Eyes: Begin by applying a primer to keep the eyeshadow in place. Next, using a brush, begin applying your shimmering blue eyeshadow working from the middle towards the outside of the lid. For a smokey eye effect, smudge with your finger into the crease. When you're happy with the shade, take a midnight blue eyeliner and outline both the top and bottom lashes. Complete with black mascara for a red carpet finish.
