Pamela Anderson has long been known for her signature bleached blonde hair and heavy make-up look complete with black smoky eyes and bright pink lip gloss. So we almost didn't recognise the Baywatch icon when she wore a more natural hair and make-up look at an awards ceremony in Paris recently.

The 49-year-old appeared to have had something of a makeunder, showcasing a more fresh-faced beauty look with just a fine coat of black eyeliner and mascara and a nude lipstick. Pamela also wore her hair pinned back from her face and down over her shoulders in loose waves to complement her toned down look.

It appears to be a deliberate decision from Pamela to experiment with both fashion and beauty in recent months, and she told Vogue that she is still discovering her true personal style. Speaking to the fashion public about the "classic" and "feminine" ensembles she has been wearing, Pamela said: "I have wonderful friends. Vivienne Westwood, Donatella Versace, Tom Ford, and these great people who have always been very generous to me. I've also had crazy, wild husbands and fun friends like David LaChapelle who wanted to dress me up for events.

She continued: "I feel like I've been a muse to a lot of people, a lot of artists and some designers, and it wouldn't necessarily be what I would choose to wear. I think now I'm really working on my personal style." Stylist Martina Nilsson has been helping her to overhaul her style, and it appears her beauty routine has also changed as a result.

The Baywatch actress is known for her signature heavy make-up and bleached hair

Pamela's makeunder comes as she prepares to celebrate her milestone 50th birthday in July. But far from being upset about getting older, the actress has said she is embracing the ageing process. "I actually like ageing," Pamela told W magazine in 2016. "I have great older female role models in my life, including my amazing mum, who have glitz, glamour, and all sorts of fun. Getting older isn't the end. I know I have so much to look forward to."
