She has stayed out of the limelight since giving birth back in May, taking some time out to get her body back into shape.
But Jessica Simpson revealed her new, slimmed-down physique on Monday as she made her first television appearance on Katie Couric's new talk show.
Looking lovely in a black peplum dress, the star spoke about her weight gain during pregnancy, admitting she was shocked when it didn't fall off after giving birth.
"During pregnancy, I didn't really think about it," she said.
"I thought my doctors were telling me that it was just a lot of water and whenever my water broke my whole entire stomach would go down but that did not happen.
"All the weight did not come out with the baby."
And keeping sugary cravings at bay has been a real challenge for the singer.
"I feel like what made me eat more is my hormones and breastfeeding," she revealed.
"I've never wanted chocolate more in my life. I've had to really stay focused and focus on my diet and concentrate on what I'm putting in my body."
The 5ft 4in star said she weighed 170 pounds just before giving birth.
But has since lost more than 40 pounds through following a strict regime provided by Weight Watchers.
However, Jessica insists she is still 10lbs away from her goal weight, and she is determined to get there with the help of her daughter.
"I basically take her with me, whether it's strapping her on me or strolling around the neighbourhood," she said.
"My new goal is 14,000 steps a day."
She continued to reveal that losing the weight has been a "challenge", adding that she has felt a "lot of pressure" from the media focus on her body size.
Jessica signed a reported $4 million deal with Weight Watchers to ping back into shape.
It's a little princess!
