Anne Hathaway made a radiant return to the red carpet in Los Angeles on Wednesday. The actress, who is expecting her first child with husband Adam Shulman, flaunted her baby bump at Los Angeles Fine Art Show's 2016 opening night premiere party, benefitting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The mum-to-be eschewed traditional maternity clothes for her big night out, and looked sensational in a black and white Marc by Marc Jacobs mini dress, paired with embellished block heel sandals.

With her husband Adam accompanying her at the event, Anne was truly glowing and looking happier than ever.

The couple's rare high profile date night comes just weeks after Anne confirmed her pregnancy by proudly showing off her baby bump in a bikini shot, taken while they were on a relaxing New Year's holiday.

"Happy 2016 to my beautiful Instafriends! So, posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for me, but just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed," Anne wrote.

"I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter :).

"Wishing you love, light and blessings for the year ahead! Annie."

The 33-year-old has since told fans that she is on a "wellness kick", and is reportedly "feeling really healthy" throughout her pregnancy.

As for how her husband is preparing for their new arrival? "Adam has been really helpful and is so excited on the baby," a source told E! Online. "Adam and Anne are doing great as a couple and this whole baby process is a bonding experience for them both."

Anne tied the knot with producer and jewellery designer Adam in September 2012, and has made no secret of her desire to start a family ever since.

Speaking to The Telegraph in 2014, Anne said: "I'll start with one healthy kid but I'd like to have a few naturally and adopt. I gotta get on it, you know? I'd like to have as many as I can afford, not just financially but in terms of times, because you want to make sure each one feels special."
