Congratulations to Amy Williams and her husband Craig Ham! The Olympic gold medallist has given birth to the couple's first child – a bouncing baby boy. Amy, a former skeleton racer, released an exclusive statement to HELLO! Online, saying: "Craig and I are over the moon to welcome our beautiful little boy into the world, totally in love." The pair's bundle of joy was born on Wednesday March 22 and weighed 8lb 4oz.

The new mum revealed her exciting pregnancy news to HELLO! magazine last year. Amy, 34, opened up about the moment she found out she was expecting, on the couple's one-year wedding anniversary. Amy said: "I had an idea something was different about my body. I think as an ex-athlete I am highly tuned to my body, so I took a test in the daytime, which was positive, then spent the rest of the day thinking how I'd tell Craig. In the end I wrote a little card and wrapped up the test in a box knowing he would just think it was an anniversary gift! I think it was a pretty big surprise present for him!"

EXCLUSIVE: Amy and Craig's magical wedding day

Amy, who chose to keep her baby's gender a surprise, also said: "So long as it's healthy that is all that matters, I love a surprise and so can't wait to find out on its birthday what it will be! Tricky just having to think up boys and girls names now! It's due in March. We are slowly getting the nursery ready, I'm painting it in neutral colours."

Amy told Craig she was expecting on their one-year wedding anniversary

The star athlete, who was appointed an MBE in 2010, revealed the first time she and Craig saw their baby on the scan machine. "I remember having sweaty palms," she said. "The baby was all curled up in a tiny ball and so I had to go and raid the chocolate machine to get some sugar in me and go for a walk around the car park to wake it up so they could check it! It was such a magical moment, filled with excitement yet a little bit of nervousness at how much life will be changing too! It's already extremely active and for the last month has already been kicking, punching and moving almost nonstop!"
