Steven, 36, and his wife Alex Gerrard, 34, welcomed their baby boy on 29 April. The couple, who have been married since June 2007, are also parents to three little girls; Lilly-Ella,13, Lexie, ten, and five-year-old Lourdes. They announced little Lio's arrival on social media, with Steven taking to Instagram to share an 'It's a boy' post with his six million followers. "Lio George Gerrard was born this morning at 4.55am. Both are doing great. Our family is complete," he wrote alongside. One week later, the ex-Liverpool star shared the very first image of his son. Steven simply added a heart emoji next to the photo, which showed the seven-day-old baby sleeping peacefully in a white baby gro, covered up with a star patterned blanket.

Wife Alex announced her fourth pregnancy back in October, sharing a picture of the couple’s three daughters looking at an ultrasound of their new sibling. She had previously opened up to HELLO! about the possibility of having a little boy to follow in Steven's footballing footsteps. "I know Steven has said before he would like one but the chances of us having one is slim with having three girls," she confessed. "He laughs and says he can't risk it - it's going to cost him a fortune in weddings if we have another girl!"
