Avoid mould-ripened soft cheeses such as camembert, brie and chèvre, a type of goats cheese. And you should also stay away from blue-veined cheeses like gorgonzola and stilton. All of these cheeses may contain listeria, a type of bacteria that can be harmful to your baby.
You can eat hard cheeses like cheddar and parmesan. Mozzarella, feta, halloumi, goats cheese and ricotta are also all OK, provided they are made from pasteurised milk
