Peter Andre's pregnant girlfriend Emily shows off growing baby bump

Peter Andre was every bit the proud father-to-be as he escorted his pregnant girlfriend Emily MacDonagh to the Pride of Britain Awards.

The star kept the expectant brunette close with a protective arm wrapped around her waist, as the couple walked the red carpet at the star-studded event.

Trainee doctor Emily and Peter announced that they were expecting their first baby back in July — but this was the first time that the 23-year-old has shown off a sizable bump.

Emily looked beautiful in a floor-length gold beaded dress, her hair swept up into an elegant braided bun. She completed her glamorous look with a black clutch bag and peep toe heels.

Peter, 40 and Emily have been dating for just over a year and will welcome their first child together in 2014.

Her dapper escort chose a smart grey suit and black tie for the occasion.

The Australian singer is already a father to two children — son Junior, eight, and daughter Princess Tiaamii, six — from his marriage to Katie Price.

He met Emily through her surgeon father, who operated on Peter in 2010 to remove kidney stones.

Just recently, Peter denied he had plans to propose, clearing up any engagement rumours with a video entitled, The Truth about Emily and Marriage.

Regardless of whether the couple do decide to walk down the aisle, they are clearly blissfully happy.

TV star Peter has confirmed he will be by Emily's side when the baby arrives next year, saying, "I wouldn't miss the birth of my child for anything!"

I think it's important for dads to be present and to hold their partner's hand. "He also told Yahoo! that Emily was coping well with pregnancy. "She's got everything covered when it comes to pregnancy — she's amazing," he said.

"She just knows what she's doing."

In preparation for the arrival of his third child, Peter has confirmed that the current series of his reality show My Life will be the last. And he admitted that Emily's privacy was a factor in his decision.

"There is that because I am with someone who is a lot more private and even though I am public and I could never ask for privacy here and there - that's wrong, you can't when you're in this industry - you have to also respect the other person, " he said.

"But it's not just that, I do honestly think that we've done it and the public have been amazing, and I would hate it for the ratings to start slipping and then I have to stop."
