As she celebrates the publication of her autobiography, It's A Fine Life: My Story by Jodie Prenger (Michael O'Mara, £14.99), she revealed to us, however, that the role has proved challenging – to her beauty routine.
Jodie, 29, is a trained nail technician, but has had to learn to live without her beloved nail extensions because she's required to have short, stubby fingernails, stuffed with dirt every night, to play Nancy.
"Short nails look best with dark colours, so when I'm not working I wear a gorgeous deep-purple from Dior called Vernis Long Wearing Nail Lacquer in Mystic Violine, £14," Jodie tells us.
She's had a sneak preview of the new Bourjois collection of nail colours, out from April 15 - Boots from April 22 - and loves Bleu Mysterieux, £5.37, a beautiful dark-blue that's one of our favourite colours, too.
Jodie also has to use fake tan to counteract the draining effect of the stage lights – "otherwise I look like an albino," she says. L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-tanning Gel, £11.74, is Jodie's favourite.
But there is one part of the West End stage that's made it into her at-home beauty routine and that's fake eyelashes. "I've got no problem with faking it," she says.
"I love my Spanx, my false eyelashes, my chicken fillets to give my bust a boost… I even love the corset I have to wear on stage every night because it makes my cleavage look great. And then you take it off and wonder where it's all gone!"
