Model and TV presenter Tess Daly has brought backstage secrets to the shopfloor with a new range of glamorous products available through Marks & Spencer
With their shows currently prime-time ratings winners, it’s no wonder the stars of The X-Factor and Strictly Come Dancing are using the opportunity to launch their own ventures.
Cheryl Cole has a brand new single out, apparently Simon Cowell is about to launch his own cologne and now Tess Daly has signed to Marks & Spencer with a brand new beauty line.
With all the dazzle of a disco ball, Tess’s new range, Daly Body, has been designed to bring a touch of glamour to bathtime.
"For me, the ultimate quick fix is all about getting a shimmer and a glow to my skin," she says.
"By adding moisture and shimmer to the skin, you will look more radiant and youthful and limbs will look longer and more toned."
So she created a range of golden nectars that glimmer with iridescence.
There’s a Bath Soak, £15, Skin Shimmer, £12, a shimmering body oil spray that leaves a golden glow on skin and Body Glow, £9.50, high-shimmer body moisturiser.
There’s also Face Glow, £9.50, a powder highlighter in a golden compact that can be used down the leg bone and across the décolleté and shoulders, too. And there’s a selection of minis and travel sets and a vanity case.
All of the products are made with what Tess is calling her signature scent - tuberose, jasmine and spice upon a sweet vanilla base that dips into sandalwood and musks – so they can be layered without clashing.
Tess says the range has taken two years to develop and it was she who approached M&S as a collaborator.
"I couldn’t find the products I was looking for," she tells us. "I wanted gorgeous body products that would give me glowing, luminous skin that shimmered under the lights of the cameras at work, but that still looked great in daylight.
"I was involved from the very first day," she continues. "Developing a range of beauty products has been a dream for as long as I can remember. I worked in the fashion industry before getting into television, with some of the world’s top make-up artists and gained so many great tips and experience."
And it looks like it’s been put to good use. The range goes on sale from 18 October so make a note in your diary, even if it’s to stock up for Christmas – with their glittering glamour, the products will make great gifts, too.
