The pressure is on for Stacey Solomon as the only remaining female contestant on the X Factor.
So her mentor Dannii Minogue came up with a novel, and festive, way to ease some of that tension this week – a spin on the ice.
With just a few weeks to go in the competition, the Aussie beauty and her protégé adopted a 'work hard, play hard' attitude, wrapping up against the chill in woolly hats and scarves for some skating at Somerset House.
The two ladies have obviously formed a very close bond since the summer.
They giggled and held hands as they got to grips with the ice; starting off with a few wobbles but soon impressing onlookers with a confident performance.
The winter excursion no doubt helped Stacey relax ahead of Saturday night's live show.
She and her four fellow finalists will have to perform songs by two pop greats this week; Take That and Elton John.
And if learning two tracks wasn't enough, the quintet will be judged solely by the viewers – judges can comment but cannot vote.
"The plan is for the acts to do one up-tempo number and a more ballady one to show off both sides of their voices," a show source said.
