Frankie Sandford has shared details of the romantic moment Wayne Bridge popped the question — revealing her thoughtful footballer fiancé even managed to include her beloved dogs in the proposal.
Speaking on Capital Radio's Breakfast Show, The Saturdays star said, "Wayne took me to a hotel and he got my dogs involved. I didn't know my dogs were there and they came in in little bride and groom outfits. And Pixie had the ring around her neck on a ribbon."
Asked by host Lisa Snowdon how Wayne had managed to get the dogs dressed in their costumes, Frankie laughed, "Presley did have one leg out because it obviously didn't fit him very well."
Not only did Wayne's proposal come as a surprise to the singer, 24, it was also something of a relief. "He's been acting so weird that when he left to come back in and do the whole proposal thing, in my head I was thinking, 'Oh no, we've become one of those couples that can't make conversation at dinner'," she revealed.
"I was panicking… And then my family came in and surprised us."
Joking that her pet-friendly proposal might not be to everybody's taste, the bride-to-be added, "I think for people who aren't dogs fans it's a bit of a weird proposal, so I feel like I only want to tell people who like dogs!"
Frankie announced her happy news on Twitter on 8 April, posting a picture of herself wearing a huge engagement ring and being kissed by Wayne, 32. The caption read, "Guess what??!!".
The pop star — who has been dating Wayne since December 2010 — will be the third member of The Saturdays to tie the knot; last year both Rochelle Humes and Una Healy said 'I do'.
It's an exciting time for fans of the girl group. Rochelle and husband Marvin are all set to welcome their first baby into the world, and of course mum-of-one Una was recently announced as HELLO! Online's new celebrity blogger.
