18 MAY 2013
It's that time once again to invite your friends around, dust off your dancing shoes and get ready to join Europe's biggest party. We could only be talking about the Eurovision Song contest.
With an audience of over 130million expected to watch, it is most likely going to be a night of camp disco, catchy lyrics and questionable costumes. This year's ceremony will come live from Sweden, after the country took home the crown last year with Loreen who scored an impressive 372 points. Bonnie Tyler, famous for her hit single Total Eclipse of the Heart, will represent the United Kingdom. The 61-year-old singer who will belt out her song Believe In Me, will be hoping to bring home the trophy.
The United Kingdom who has won the contest five times will be dreaming of collecting the title once again, as in recent years we have placed very low, with Jemini famously scoring 'nul points' in 2003. Winning the show can lead the to great things for the artist, last year's winner Loreen went on to have to have a Number One single across Europe and singer Ruslana, who won for Ukraine, in 2004 was rewarded with a seat in parliament.
So as you prepare your party, let HELLO! Online give you a quick introduction to this year's favourite contestants:
