Britain's Got Talent star Gabz to release her first single

by She might not have won Britain's Got Talent, but the future is looking bright for Gabz Gardiner.

The talented young singer and songwriter is set to release her debut single, Lighters (The One), which she performed to high praise during one of her auditions.

Gabz, 14, wrote the anthem herself and over 11 million viewers saw her sing it live to judges Amanda Holden, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell, who said of the teenager, "I think we are looking at a future pop star."

The track is to be released by Sony Music "due to exceptional demand", and the schoolgirl recorded the song in a London studio last week. It will be out 30th June.

"I'm really excited about my single being released," Gabz said. "I'm so happy, it's a dream come true."

Although she didn't win the show, Gabz made it to some of the final rounds, and eventually finished in seventh place in the competition. Her talent, and her love of onsies and baseball caps, meant she stood out from the early stages.
