Singer Famous for: being the gorgeous new girl on the indie music scene
"I firmly believe in real-life fairytales," says the flame-haired American singer-songwriter, who earned her big break in her mum"s living room. Her own fairy tale began when CEO of Virgin Records Jason Flom heard a demo tape of her band A Fine Frenzy and dropped by her house to hear the outfit perform - while Alison´s mum fed him homemade cookies. The group was signed up and have been generating a buzz ever since. Born in Seattle and raised in LA, Alison taught herself to play the piano and took inspiration from her favourite authors Lewis Carroll, CS Lewis and Jane Austen in penning her own songs. Her band which takes its name from a phrase in Shakespeare"s A Midsummer Night"s Dream released its debut album One Cell In The Sea in 2007.
