Famous for: Cranking up the tension as the host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
The former teacher landed a career in presenting when he sent his CV to TV companies with the cheeky claim: "I am the face of the Seventies and this is your last chance to snap me up". Since then Reading-born Chris, now a millionaire several times over, has gone on to host more shows than any other media personality. Starting in 1974 with Tiswas, an anarchic children's show which made him a cult figure, and a popular breakfast radio show in the Eighties, the Millionaire host has racked up 15 credits to his name.
