Famous for: Doing his best to stop Judge John Deed getting carried away
Donald Sinden is very much an old school British thesp. So it should come as no surprise that his character, Sir Joseph Channing, in the legal drama Judge John Deed represents the traditional face of the law. "He cannot understand why the series is not called 'Judge Joseph Channing'," quips the actor. Among his other memorable roles are the unflappable butler in Two's Company and a grumpy father-in-law in Never The Twain.
