Famous for: playing Tommy in cult Nineties film Trainspotting

Scotland-born Kevin was studying engineering at university when he realised what he really wanted was a career in acting. Not long after dropping out of the course he made his screen debut in the Christmas special of popular comedy series Father Ted, as Father Deegan. A stint in urban dramaThe Silver Darlings followed, before the role of Tommy in 1996 hit Trainspotting propelled him into the limelight. A clutch of major film roles followed, including Hideous Kinky with Kate Winslet, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Kingdom Of Heaven. The actor, who returned to the small screen to play Lucius Vorenus in Rome, lives with his wife Jane and their two children, Joseph and Iona, in Bedford.
