"I don't define success by the amount of money someone has or by their popularity," says Khloé Kardashian. "To me, success is setting goals and working hard to achieve them."
She's the sister of reality TV queen Kim Kardashian, but the bubbly young entrepreneur and fashionista has a lot more going for her than her famous connections.
The siblings were propelled into the spotlight when their family's TV show Keeping up with the Kardashians started in 2007. Then in her early 20s, Khloé literally grew up before TV audiences, maturing from a fun-loving party girl into the clan's voice of reason.
Evidence of her free spirit came when she married basketball star Lamar Odom on camera during season four in 2009. The wedding to the towering sportsman – who had three children with an ex-girlfriend – came just 28 days after their first date.
In true Kardashian style the wedding was a lavish affair with the beautiful bride wearing a tiered strapless Vera Wang gown and sashaying up the aisle to the strains of a 10-piece orchestra.
Of their relationship Khloé said: "When you're married to the right person, it just works. It feels so good. Having the support emotionally and physically from someone that you trust unconditionally is priceless.
"I'm married to my best friend. We genuinely have fun together. You can't force love, but when you let it find you, it's phenomenal."
Sadly the marriage broke down in 2013 amid claims that Lamar had been unfaithful and was battling substance addiction.
Baby K or Khlo, as she's known within the family, was born on 27 June, 1987. Her parents Kris and Robert Kardashian divorced in April 1991 and a month later her mother married former Olympic champion Bruce Jenner.
When Robert passed away in 2003, the Kardashian sisters were devastated and Bruce stepped up his role as their stepfather.
Their mother Kris is a force of nature managing the drama-filled careers and, occasionally the lives, of her various children.
From her marriage to Robert she has four – Kim, Kourtney, Khloé and Robert. She and Bruce also have two daughters together, Kylie and Kendall. And he brought four children of his own to their union.
People of all ages love Khloé because she's been open about her problems, from her difficulties conceiving to her struggles with her weight. She actively promotes body confidence and women find her easy to relate to.
"A few years ago I lost 30 pounds, and people still wanted to criticise. And honestly, I’m happy with myself if I’m a little heavier. I realised: Why am I trying to conform to someone else’s idea of beauty? I think I’m beautiful either way."
Khloé has starred on TV shows such as Celebrity Apprentice as a budding entrepreneur and co-hosted X Factor USA with Mario Lopez in 2012.
The 5ft 9in star has also made a name for herself in the fashion industry alongside her sisters with their DASH clothing stores. The Kardashian girls have also designed collections for the label Bebe,QVC, Sears and Dorothy Perkins.
For Khloé when it comes to business "the sky is the limit" and "the opportunities are endless". But her privileged lifestyle hasn't gone to her head. "Fame comes and fame goes but you have to be able to laugh about yourself and to take it with a grain of salt."
