Michael Bublé's Early Life

Michael Steven Bublé was born born on September 9, 1975 in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. From an early age, he knew he wanted to become a singer, honing his talent in local venues while working alongside his father as a commercial fisherman.

Starting in 1996, he began making appearances on local TV, and received much exposure thanks to his frequent appearances on Vicky Gabereau's CTV talk show as a musical guest. He recorded three independent albums between 1996-2002.

Michael Bublé's Rise to Fame and Success

Bublé was eventually signed to David Foster's 143 Records label, under which he released his self-titled debut album in 2003, a collection of jazz standards that reached the top ten in Australia and the UK. 

After more exposure worldwide, his second album, 2005's It's Time, became a notable success, reaching the top ten of several countries worldwide, his first American top ten, and was a number one jazz hit for over a year. The album's second single, "Home," was his first to achieve any kind of chart success, and the record earned him two Grammy nominations.

Since then, Bublé has achieved worldwide top ten albums with Call Me Irresponsible (2007), Crazy Love (2009), To Be Loved (2013), Nobody But Me (2016), and Love (2018). His most recent release was 2022's Higher, which won him his fifth Grammy award.

His biggest commercial success remains 2011's Christmas, which has since become a yuletide musical staple thanks to its pleasing jazz standards. It has reached number one in several countries worldwide, was one of the year's best-selling records, and has sold over 12 million copies, his biggest seller.

Michael Bublé's Personal Life

The singer began dating actress Debbie Timuss in 1996, when they starred together in Red Rock Diner, and they were soon engaged. However, they called off their engagement in 2005. That year, he met actress Emily Blunt, and the two were together till 2008.

Later that year, he met actress Luisana Lopilato. They announced their engagement in 2009 and tied the knot in 2011. They're the parents of children Noah (b. 2013), Elias (b. 2016), Vida (b. 2018), and Cielo (b. 2022).
