While his ventures on the small screen have made him a familiar face with fans of youth drama, Bristol lad Mitch Hewer never set out to be an actor. "I always wanted to be a tap dancer and that's all I ever wanted to be," says the star, who has studied the discipline since he was 11. "(Acting) just kind of came along, which was a bit surreal for me." After training at the South West Academy of Dramatic Arts in his home town he won the part of Maxxie in Skins and was quickly noticed for his good looks and strong acting ability. His dancing skills came in handy when he auditioned for ITV's answer to High School Musical Britannia High. After a seven-hour casting session with Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips he was given the role of Danny Miller, a part which required him to master a new skill singing. Though yet to break on to the big screen, Mitch has featured in many photoshoots for fashion mags, including several by Vogue snapper Kai Z Feng.
