Martha Louise and Ari on the move to the Big Apple

Princess Martha Louise of Norway is finally set to make a move to New York, nearly two years after her plans to settle in the US were first revealed.

The princess has confirmed that she, along with husband Ari Behn and baby daughter Maud Angelica, will be headed to the Big Apple in October. The threesome's plans to start a new life overseas had been derailed a number of times as family issues began to arise.

Royal watchers first speculated the couple had their eye on NYC not too long after they honeymooned there after their May 2002 weddding, but Martha Louise's pregnancy reportedly postponed the move, as she wanted to have the baby in her home country.

The following February, however, the princess confirmed she would indeed be heading to the US, intending to raise her children in Manhattan. "There is hardly a place in the world where babies can have such a sophisticated life," she said at the time.

Later, it was the pregnancy of sister-in-law Crown Princess Mette-Marit that put the plans on hold. And Martha-Louise's intention to move in February 2004 was once again put on ice after her father, King Harald, was diagnosed with cancer.
