Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has spoken out about her relationship with husband Nicolas Sarkozy during a TV interview.
Sky News have released a clip - recorded last Friday - in which Carla says she trusts her husband completely.
When the interviewer asks: "Rumours say he had many affairs in the past. do you trust him?" Carla responds: "Oh yes very much. He would never have affairs. Have you ever seen a picture of him having an affair?"
When asked if her marriage is for keeps, the 42-year-old answers, after a long pause: "I guess marriage should be forever but who knows what happens?
"I wish it was forever, that's my hope… but we could be dead tomorrow."
Carla is also asked whether it had been a fairytale to marry a president and responds: "the real fairytale is how lucky, how incredibly lucky it was for me to fall in love at 40 years old and meeting someone I could marry."
