King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia were joined by Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia at the service on the Balearic Island, where the family was spending its usual Easter break.
But it was Felipe and Letizia's young daughters, Leonor, four, and Sofia, two, who captured the hearts of wellwishers gathered outside the cathedral.
Protected from the rainy weather in matching pink coats, the little princesses charmed the crowds as they posed for photos with their parents and grandmother outside the cathedral.
Queen Sofia also opted for pink for the occasion, while mum Princess Letizia chose dark trousers combined with a grey trench-style coat and tricolour scarf.
Notably absent from the royal engagement were the Spanish sovereigns' daughters, Infanta Elena and Infanta Cristina.
Cristina and husband Iñaki Urdangarin have had to adapt their Easter holiday to the timetable of their children's school in the US, where the family currently resides owing to Iñaki's job.
