Sam, 39, also looked to be recovering well from the birth – which was by caesarean section.
Florence, their fourth child, will share her new quarters with siblings, Nancy and Arthur.
Sadly, the Camerons' eldest child Ivan died in 2009 at the age of six, having been born with a rare combination of cerebral palsy and severe epilepsy.
The devoted mum will plenty of time to enjoy the new addition to their family.
Even when her maternity leave ends she will only be at work two days per week - having cut back on her hours at luxury stationers Smythson.
Mr Cameron will also have his special time with Florence as the first serving prime minster to take paternity leave.
