Princesses-in-boots Bea and Eugenie star in royals' Christmas fashion parade

Prince William has been on duty at his search and rescue base in North Wales.

His bride-to-be Kate Middleton spent a last low-key Christmas at home with her family in Berkshire before joining the Windsor clan.

But royal watchers gathered at the Sandringham estate weren't disappointed as other glamorous young members of the family turned out.

Prince Andrew's daughters Beatrice and Eugenie were on stylish form in striking plumed headgear, skyscraper boots and smart coats as they accompanied the Queen at a church service during the holiday.

Harry also turned on the charm, chatting with the crowds and helping collect posies from well-wishers for his grandmother.

Rounding off the royal party were Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Princess Anne was absent, perhaps keeping her son, Peter Phillips and his heavily pregnant wife Autumn, company as they await the birth of their first child.

As was Peter's newly-engaged sister Zara, who was thought to be at the home she shares with her fiancé Mike Tindall.

Despite the absences, the Queen was in high spirits. Immaculately turned out in festive white, wearing an impressive fur hat and fur-trimmed coat, she smiled warmly while greeting members of the public.
